Counselling in Newcastle Upon Tyne

Our counsellors and counselling psychologists offer talking therapies to support people with depression / low mood, anxiety, stress, trauma-related issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, disordered eating and body image issues, anger, grief and much more. Whether you're an adult looking for help for yourself or your child/young person, or you're looking for couples therapy or support for your family, we can help.

What is it?

Counselling enables people to explore the issues and problems that are causing distress. The aim is to help clients gain an insight into their feelings and behaviours, in a non-judgemental and non-directive way. Counselling is a talking therapy that supports clients to find ways to improve themselves and their situation.

How can we help?

Our practitioners can help with a wide variety of issues. Counselling can help individuals accept themselves and make changes for the better.

Is there a difference between counselling and couples counselling?

Relationship / couples counselling is similar, but involves more than one client and is focused specifically on their relationship issues.

Is counselling an effective therapy?

Research has shown counselling to be an effective way of making things better. It has been shown to be particularly helpful when you are able to find a therapist with whom you can build a strong therapeutic relationship.
