Coaching at our Newcastle psychology centre
At our Newcastle centre, we are pleased to offer the following types of coaching to individuals and organisations:
- life coaching
- career coaching
- executive coaching.
What is it?
Coaching is a form of personal development whereby the coach helps the client work towards accomplishing goals in a collaborative way. It can have a wide range of goals and can work in many areas of life.
When does it help?
The process does not focus on issues that cause distress and so is mainly beneficial to those clients who generally feel okay but may want to improve themselves. Life coaching, for example, can help clients focus on specific goals to encourage personal fulfilment and improve quality of life. In career coaching, emphasis is placed on looking at the work we are best suited to and the roles we may find most rewarding. Executive coaching is an extension of this, and is most commonly used by those in highly successful roles who want to develop and enhance themselves further.
Is it effective?
As coaching is a relatively new area, there isn’t much data available on its effectiveness, however the literature suggests its effectiveness relies heavily on a positive relationship between coach and client.
